Police in Gulu is investigating their son who is alleged to have defiled a teenage girl of only 14 years.
Ocan George Bush, 36, is the suspect who hails from Palaro sub-county in Gulu district.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa region police spokesman confirmed that the incident was reported by Alex Odongo Okoya, the LCII Labourline parish in Gulu Municipality on Tuesday 27th at Gulu Central Police Station
“It’s alleged that the victim was stranded in Palaro and was taken to Palaro Police Post by a good Samaritan in the month of May last year where she was handed over to the officer in charge of the station, Jasper Opene but Ochan eventually took the girl away from the Post and spent about three days with her in Palaro before taking her to his parents’ home in Laliya, Bungatira sub-county where he had sexual intercourse with the victim,” Okema narrated.
He says the victim is a resident of Lamwo district.
Okema further narrates that according to a complainant, Alex Odongo Okoya, the victim developed pain in her private after sexual contact in Laliya but Ochan took her back to Palaro to Jennifer Apiyo, a nurse who later referred the victim to Dr. Innocent Oling Loum of unidentified Medical Centre in Gulu town where the pregnancy was terminated.
Okema added: “So far four suspects have been arrested in connection to the case on Tuesday 29th and they are being held at Gulu CPS.”
The suspects include; Ochan, nurse Apiyo, Dr. Oling and Opene the then Palaro police post Operation Commander (OC).
The case has been registered at Gulu CPS under CRB 147/2019 for investigations.
