Lira – On Monday, two Indian nationals jointly accused of murder were brought back to Lira Grade One Magistrates’ Court.

Madmay Gaga, 22 and Vayas Fravay, 27 had earlier, on November 19 remanded to Soroti government prison.

They are accused of killing a former pupil of Alito primary school in Kole district on the 9, November, 2018.

According to matching accounts, the two cotton traders offered cheap gifts to the slain boy – Dickens Okello and his brother, Denis Ogwang. The slain boy was only 11 years old.

Among things they offered the deceased and his brother were sweets, biscuits and money – shillings 2,000 only.

But, after the deceased and his brother declined the offers, both Madmay and Vayas started chasing the two young boys. Unfortunately, Dickens got trapped in a wire, captured and was strangled to death, his brother says at the funeral.

Brought from Soroti government prison to appear before Lira Grade One Magistrate’s Court – the two ended up being locked up in court cell with no “court appearance”, our Court reporter – Immaculate Amony reported.

“They didn’t even enter courtroom. Their bail application hearing has been scheduled for 14, December, 2018,” she reports.

“His Worship Simon Odoo further remanded them to the above date,” Immaculate added.

More than four Uganda Prisons Service and Uganda Police Force’s vehicles escorted Madmay and Vayas, all moving at the same speed.
