Kampala – The Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club [URA FC] Board sitting on the 26th October 2018 appointed Ivan Kakembo as the new Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of URA FC.
Mr Kakembo, previously with SC Villa as CEO, according to a Sunday press release, has been given a one year renewable contract effective 1st November 2018.
“We warmly welcome Ivan and believe that he has the necessary expertise to lead the dream team,” Ian Rumanyika, Director Communications at URA FC says in a press statement.
“I am so happy to join URA FC as a club and being under URA as an institution is a great honor. I’m so confident because I come here with great expertise in football management both locally and internationally which I believe will give us as a club an edge in Ugandan football today. I expect to lobby for the club’s growth and also deliver a new brand of URA FC and ensure that the success of the club is unmatched,” Said Ivan in his acceptance statement.
Mr. Kizza James who’s the Chairman URA FC promised support to the new CEO and he emphasized that the CEO has been thoroughly selected and the board is convinced that Ivan is the right man for the job.
“The CEO has been tasked to turn the club into a bigger football brand both locally and internationally,” Club Chairman, Mr Kizza James noted.
St. Catherine Hospital was also unveiled as the club’s official medical sponsor, although for how long it was not revealed.
The above hospital will provide medical insurance cover for URA FC players, URA FC staff and their dependents to ensure a healthy team.
“We are happy to be part of this great team and we believe that when the team is healthy then the results will be good too,” Mr. Omuntu Lawrence, the public relations director St. Catherine’s Hospital said.
