Arua-Former Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA Football Club player, Denis Okot has snubbed Uganda Revenue Authority FC to sign a two year deal with Arua based side, Onduparaka Football Club.
Okot who captained KCCA FC for two seasons, penned a two year deal on Monday morning at Green Light Stadium in Arua the home of Caterpillars.
Adams Lematia Otelul, the Onduparaka FC Public Relations Officer confirmed getting Okot’s signature on Monday.
Okot is a native of Keyo in Lamogi Sub County, Amuru district.
He also captained Acholi Province team in the ongoing FUFA drum competition in which Acholi Province got eliminated at the weekend by Bukedi Province.
In an interview with TND Sports’ Michael Ojok, Okot says he could not sign for URA even though they are a big club, revealing that the Tax collecting club wanted him on a season long loan. The new Caterpillar footballer says he is not a loan material.
Okot also revealed that Onduparaka has been chasing him for the last one year with a better deal that would allow him leave, should interest arise from an international club as part of his contract clause.
Okot becomes that fourth player to join Onduparaka FC after Fred Agandu, Amis Muwonge and Richard Ayiko were all signed during the ongoing transfer window.
At the time of penning his new deal, Okot says he was almost signing a three year deal with South African based Platinum Stars on 40,000 US Dollars pay.
However, he turned it down following a disagreement with his agent who was demanding for 25 percent of the pay.
