“All these stolen, endangered and privatized properties will be registered in the DP Party register to be called National Register for Stolen and Endangered Assets [NRSEA],” DP officials say.
The Democratic Party (DP) is set to launch a nationwide campaign all aimed at identifying and registering all government ‘stolen’, endangered and privatized buildings in Uganda.
These buildings, most notably factories, industries, hotels, among others have been privatized by the current government either unlawfully or intentionally, DP says.
Nobert Mao, the DP party President announced the development while addressing journalists from northern Uganda last week on the 14, July at Northern Uganda Media Club (NUMEC).
He says, “Most of the government properties [hotels, factories, industries] which boosted the economy of this country have greatly been stolen and privatized by some individual in the ruling party which is not benefiting all the citizens of this country as used to be in the past governments.”
He added that all these stolen, endangered and privatized properties will be registered in the DP Party register to be called National Register for Stolen and Endangered Assets [NRSEA].
By so doing, Mao says it would help this government to account for such properties as they will be able to avail the record easily.
Mike Mabiki, the Secretary General and founder member of Uganda Young Democrats (UYD says that the transition of power lay on young people, adding that the reunion of the Uganda Young Democrats held in recent months is going to help a lot in fighting what he calls dictatorship government.
Mabike added that it will then be easy for them to remove President Museveni from power.
He called upon youth to join their pressure group so that they are natured for feature leadership, stressing further that they [youth] are majority in terms of population in this Uganda.
