LIRA- On Tuesday morning, information was circulating uncontrollably on social media and local Radios in Lira town that one Ogwal Bosco, 36; a boda boda rider was kidnapped by unknown people in Lira town on Monday at around 10pm.
This was later refuted by Police authority on Tuesday.
David Ongom Mudong, the North Kyoga regional Police spokesperson told TND News reporter that there was nothing like a kidnap, asking public to disregard such misinforming information.

“The police categorically put it clearly that there was nothing of the sort and therefore disregards such misleading information aimed at causing panic among the populace,” Mudong said in his press release.
He said Ogwal Bosco was arrested by Police and charged with impersonation vide SD Ref: 50/28/05/2018.
Ogwal, according to Police is a resident of Starch factory, Adyel division in Lira Municipality.
“The allegation showed that the above boda boda rider was last night got riding while on a reflector jacket causing suspicion by the people around. The police had to take him for interrogation to clear the air. We urge the general public to remain calm, strengthen vigilance and report suspicious elements for interventions,” he added.
