Ugandan media personality Mary Luswata has publicly apologised to singer Juliana Kanyomozi for hurtful comments she made following the loss of the singer’s baby, admitting that her words were insensitive and unnecessary. In a recent interview, Luswata reflected on her past behaviour and acknowledged that she went too far when Juliana was experiencing one of the most painful moments of her life.“I took it a little too far when Juliana lost her baby. I was evil. That is me taking accountability,” Luswata said, openly admitting that her earlier remarks were wrong.

When asked whether she was ready to apologise to Juliana, Luswata initially questioned whether the singer wanted an apology. She later addressed Juliana directly, expressing regret over the comments she made during that difficult period.“When you lost your baby, Juliana, I was young, I was stupid, I was excited,” she said, acknowledging that her age and attitude at the time contributed to her insensitive remarks.Luswata also explained that becoming a mother herself had changed her perspective. She said having children helped her understand the emotional pain and vulnerability that come with parenthood, making her realise how inappropriate her previous comments had been.“Now God has given me my own children just to reveal how stupid I was to say what I said,” she added, reflecting on how motherhood had influenced her understanding of the singer’s experience.Known for her outspoken personality and unapologetic approach to entertainment commentary, Luswata admitted that some of her past remarks were driven by ego and a lack of consideration for other people’s feelings. She said she was now willing to take responsibility for the harm her words may have caused. “For someone who prided herself on being unapologetic, I am apologetic to you, Juliana. That was inconsiderate, unnecessary, bordering on ego. I am sorry,” Luswata said, marking a public moment of accountability and expressing hope that her apology would reach the singer.
