“I Was Very, Very Sad” — Museveni Reveals King Oyo’s Final Letter To Him Before His Death

President Yoweri Museveni has revealed the contents of a final letter written to him by the late Tooro King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV before his death.Museveni made the revelation on Tuesday during the coronation of Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I as the new Omukama of Tooro at Karuziika Palace.

The President said he discovered the letter dated June 15, 2026, while going through his documents a day after King Oyo’s burial. He said the discovery deeply saddened him because the king had already been laid to rest.

According to Museveni, Oyo used the letter to thank him for several things, including appointing ministers from Tooro. The President said the letter also showed that the late king was still actively communicating and appeared well when he wrote it.

Museveni praised King Oyo’s contribution to Tooro and urged the new king and other cultural leaders to protect indigenous values, languages and traditional knowledge.King Oyo died in August 2026 while.To read more, tap heret
