Kibaale’s thief known as “god” killed by mob – police launch investigation

Kibaale police have launched an investigation into the circumstances under which a 335-year-old man identified as only “god” was brutally murdered on Monday night.

“God”, who was a son to Kapasi, the LC1 chairperson of Lwembuba village in Nyabutanzi sub-county, Kagadi district, was murdered in Kyamalime cell, Nyamarunda town council in Kibaale district.

The deceased was brutally murdered by an unknown group of people who chopped off one of his hands off the body.

Meanwhile, the report indicates that the deceased was allegedly attacked and killed while riding a motorcycle Bajaji boxer registration number UFV 847Z. The motorcycle was suspected of having been used to carry stolen animals.

Residents became suspicious, which led to the attack.

It is also said that the one Godson, was a notorious thief in Lwembuba village, a place where the deceased comes from.

According to Jacob Mukonyezi, the LC1 chairperson for Kyamalime village, he was going to the garden when he saw a man lying down near his gardens. He said he immediately called the Nyamarunda police station.

The body of “god” was taken to Kibaale Health Centre IV for postmortem. Kibaale police told tndNews, Uganda that they have mounted a criminal investigation into the death.

Rachael Wakole, the district CID officer, declined to give comments on the matter.
