A total of sixty-six pupils who completed their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) in 2025 still remain with no hope for secondary education as UNEB continues to withhold primary results.
By March 2, the affected pupils could not imagine when their results would be released.
Of the total, 35 sat their PLE papers from God’s Light nursery and primary school and 31 at Kyakatemba government school, both of which are privately owned schools in Hoima City.
Caroline Nyamahunge, the Hoima City Inspector of Schools said that it has been a long time since January 25 when UNEB released 2025 PLE results.
“We are waiting for the 27th of March, a day that the UNEB scheduled and summoned all the affected learners, examination invigilators, town clerk, education officer and school inspector to appear before the national examination security committee for interrogation,” she told tndNews, Uganda.
The inspector said that after the interrogation the results will either be released or not depending on the security findings and resolutions to the allegations.
Meanwhile, she advised the affected candidates to keep revising their primary class work as they wait to go to UNEB, noting that the interrogation may involve fresh examination tests for clear proof of their innocence.
“I would advise that the parents should not let their children stay away from their primary books since UNEB may resolve to put those children to the test in case of any suspected examination malpractices in the last 2025 PLE,” Nyamahunge advised.
Nyamahunge, however, warned schools against any practices which can lead to both schools, parents and children before UNEB, saying that failure by UNEB to release the results the affected schools should take full cost.
Last year, the city registered over 1,000 students from both private and government primary schools for PLE, out of which 66 were affected.

Hillary Tumusiime, one of the affected parents whose child completed from Mapera Primary school and was able to speak to us, said that despite the effect they will remain patient to hear the final results from UNEB after interrogations.
He showed concern over their failure to visualise their children’s academic results after paying school fees for a long time.
“Though we shall be patient for the outcome from UNEB, it will also be very unfortunate if UNEB cancels the entire results, after we have waited for a long time,” he expressed fears.
Another parent who preferred anonymity urged the schools to put in all required efforts to secure the situation.
