Alebtong district receives iron sheets from OPM

The Government Chief Whip and NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, Denis Hamson Obua, has handed over 630 iron sheets to the Alebtong district authorities.

Procured under the Northern Uganda Rehabilitation Programme in the OPM for the Financial Year 2025/26, the iron sheets aim to boost institutional infrastructure and improve living conditions for vulnerable communities.

The official handover took place at the Alebtong district Headquarters and was witnessed by the Chief Administrative Officer, Franko Olaboro, and the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Geoffrey Okiswa.

The distribution guidelines prioritise education and faith-based institutions, reinforcing their role in community transformation.

The allocations are as follows: Alanyi Primary School received 100 iron sheets, Amugu Secondary School and Omoro Senior Secondary School each received 150, and Alebtong Yahew Pentecostal Church received 230 iron sheets.

The support is expected to enhance infrastructure resilience, improve learning environments, and bolster the capacity of community institutions to deliver essential services.

Geoffrey Okiswa, the RDC of Alebtong, commended Obua for delivering on the government’s promise.

The RDC noted that the support highlights the effective coordination between national leadership and local government structures in achieving tangible development outcomes.

Obua reaffirmed his dedication to continued engagement with government institutions to ensure Northern Uganda benefits equitably from national programmes.

He emphasised the importance of accountability, transparency, and targeted support to priority sectors for sustainable development.
