Two first sons (current and former) could soon confront each other.
Muhoozi Kainerugaba, President Yoweri Museveni’s son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of UPDF and Jimmy Akena, son of former and late President Dr Apollo Milton Obote “have known each other from childhood and are friends,” according to some sources.
However, the two have not been spotted together publicly nor have pictures of them together been taken and shared.
There has also been a claim that Muhoozi “fears and respects Akena” and that “he will never respond to his ‘attacks or comments’ publicly.”
This claim will soon be proved after Akena, speaking to the press on Wednesday at Uganda House, Kampala, commented on how the CDF is embarrasing Ugandans.
“…the office you hold is a very high office and the fact that you are a son of a President – you must also watch your words and your actions. The sort of statements which have been coming out of the office of the CDF is an embarrassment to all of us as Ugandans,” Akena said.
“I must put this one clear on record: it’s an embarrassment. How can you talk about torturing, killing a person who stood in a presidential election and had the backing of over 2m Ugandans according to the Electoral Commission?
“A leader of a party which has representation in the Parliament of Uganda….honestly, what’s happening in Uganda?” Akena asked.

Muhoozi’s “general” Kabanda replies
On Thursday, Daudi Kabanda, the Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a political pressure group formed by Muhoozi, wrote:
“Akena should shut up and go pay for all the skeletons of his father’s victims in Luweero. For how long will you extort money from the President so that you remain a fake leader of UPC?We all know the President pays you billions every year to keep pretending that UPC exists.
“
You think by jumping on abusing Gen. @mkainerugaba, you will resurrect politically? Your Family is a reject in Lango. Please shut up.”
