Ajuri County: UPC’s Fred Jalameso whips GCW Denis Hamson Obua

ajuri

For the first time since 2006, Denis Hamson Obua has lost his MP seat after a controversial parliamentary election.

Obua was first elected as northern Uganda youth MP until 2011. On January 15, the electorate of Ajuri County joined the rest of the country to elect their MPs and President for the next five years.

With most MPs elect declared by January 16, one for Ajuri was delayed due to electoral disputes and disparities in the declaration forms. The tallying went on upto January 17 but with no final declaration by the Returning Officer Adongo Jessica Ocen.

She (Adongo) and Higenyi Jackson Pabire, Regional Election Officer rescheduled a rerun in the disputed 18 polling stations in Awei sub-county, Alebtong district.

Ahead of the rerun, Jalameso was leading Obua in 160 out of 178 polling stations.

Below is the full results from all the polling stations in Ajuri as of January 27. Jalameso was declared the MP-elect for the 12th Parliament by Returning Officer Olobo Michael.
