The Military Police has called on its officers and militants to demonstrate loyalty, hard work, and discipline as they prepare to guard the final sitting of the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.
Maj Gen William Bainomugisha, Commandant of the Military Police, addressed 490 officers and militants at Nsujju Mporwe Barracks in Mpigi district. He emphasised the importance of professionalism during the national exams.
“The best weapon of a soldier is his brain,” Maj Gen Bainomugisha said, urging personnel to act wisely and tactically while safeguarding the examination process, ensuring a secure and orderly environment for students.
While speaking at Buyala Barracks, the General cautioned against prioritising personal wealth over duty.
“Put the country first and money later,” he said, calling on officers and militants to serve diligently and avoid extravagant lifestyles.
Deputy Commandant Brigadier Christopher Columbus Tumwiine reminded troops to act as role models, maintain accountability, and preserve the integrity of the Military Police.
He also instructed personnel to stay alert, courteous, and focused on their duties, avoiding political involvement or festive distractions.
COL Sylvia Meeme, Brigade Operations and Training Officer, urged officers and militants to approach the task with fairness, flexibility, and observant professionalism.
The Military Police will oversee security at examination centres across the country, ensuring a smooth and peaceful conclusion to the 2025 UACE examinations.
Senior Six candidates who registered for UACE examinations started with briefings on November 7. On Monday November 10, candidates will begin writing their examinations.
