Jane Acilo takes her wealth creation-centred campaign to Aber

On her seventh day of campaign to become the next woman MP of Oyam district, Jane Frances Acilo is heading to Aber sub-county on Monday.

The NRM candidate will address the people of Akaka and Wirao parishes at Ginnery and Wirao trading centres in Akaka.

She will, however, start her campaign from Wirao’s Barlongo, Barcal A village and Ayomapwono villages.

In her first week of official campaign, which commenced on November 10 from Aleka sub-county, Acilo emphasised her commitment to transforming Oyam district through wealth creation and other programs.

Even before her official campaign began, she consistently called for unity among supporters of different political parties.

acilo“We should only disagree on ideas but remain united for the development of Oyam,” she said in Akotcwe Primary school, Iceme on Saturday.

Once offered the Legislative Mandate in the January 2026 election, Acilo promised to give Oyam a “different view” and to serve in the interest of “all,” continuing from her active involvement with the masses in the last seven months of active politics.

From February 2026, she promised to resume improved maize seed distribution to benefit more households in the district.

For the past two planting seasons this year, dozens of households in Oyam have benefited from her maize seed donation.

Speaking last week, Acilo said there are ready markets for the maize grains, with a kilo to be bought at not less than shs1,000.

She’s also promising to empower farmers with farming equipment and to ensure the government makes it cheap for rural farmers.

For the last 15 years, Oyam has been under the reign of the UPC party. This time, Acilo is promising to turn it yellow and begin a new era under the Movement.
