With three days left until her nomination by the Electoral Commission for the Office of the Woman Member of Parliament for Oyam district, Jane Frances Acilo had fruitful engagements on Sunday October 19.
Acilo is the NRM party flagbearer for the district woman MP seat following her landslide victory in the primary election held in July 2025.
She has been credited for her mobilisation skills and an understanding of the community’s needs and wants.
“I met with members of the Bodaboda Association and local taxi drivers, who are vital to one of our largest employment sectors,” she said.
The frontrunner for the woman MP office, said they discussed the challenges and explored practical solutions to support the work of boda boda and taxi drivers.
On the same day, Acilo also met with parish chairpersons and the women of the Iceme Women’s Cooperative Group. “These conversations highlighted the importance of collaboration, empowerment, and inclusive leadership,” she added.
Throughout the week, Jane Frances Acilo stated that she “continued to engage with various community groups, listening to their concerns and working together to find solutions that genuinely make a difference in people’s lives.”
“My focus remains on inclusive leadership, one that unites, listens, and delivers,” she promised.
After fifteen years of the UPC party’s Parliamentary representation, NRM’s Acilo is promising to change the status quo, and make Oyam, yellow.
She is scheduled for a nomination on Thursday October 23.
