Jane Frances Acilo, a candidate for Woman Member of Parliament in Oyam District, has officially sent off six students who are set to begin their studies for term two.

The Jane Acilo Foundation (TJAF) fully sponsors this initiative, which supports high-potential learners from Oyam district throughout their secondary education journey, from Senior One to Senior Six.

Launched in term one of 2025, the program initially focused on sponsoring the top two Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) performers from government schools.

Among the current beneficiaries are the top two PLE candidates: a girl and a boy, along with four other students who have demonstrated academic excellence and come from financially challenged backgrounds.

The students consist of four girls and two boys from various sub counties across Oyam district.

“To ensure their safety and well-being, the names of the schools they attend in Kampala will remain confidential,” Acilo, through her Foundation, said in a statement on Tuesday.

For term two alone, the Foundation has invested UGX 10 million, covering school fees, boarding, and educational materials.

“I’ve walked the same path many of these children are on. I understand what it means to have big dreams but limited resources.

“That’s why we support them through every term, every test, and every challenge,” said Jane Frances Acilo during the send-off.

This initiative is a core part of her vision to ensure access to education, promote equity, and foster sustainable community transformation, one child, one term at a time.

The Foundation also announced that a new intake of students will be considered next year, with expanded support from development partners and well-wishers committed to increasing the program’s impact.
