Triskelion Education and Skills Initiative (TESI) is set to host the 5th edition of the Higher Education and Career Guidance Fair 2025 at Lira Town College main hall.
Since 2021, TESI has been organizing the career guidance fair annually, and unlike previous events, this year’s fair shall be an in-person event.
The fair is scheduled for April 05, 2025, and will provide S.6 vacists, and S.6 students with valuable insights into career choices, university admissions, scholarships, and skill development. The expected attendees include S.6 vacists, current A-level students, and other young adults interested in higher education.
The career guidance fair falls under TESI’s Career & University Readiness Programme (CURP), a flagship programme that has been instrumental in providing educational career guidance and guiding students across Uganda in their academic and career journeys.
Many CURP alumni have secured places in Uganda’s top universities, including Makerere, Kyambogo, Busitema, Kabale, Gulu, Soroti and Muni University.
The upcoming fair will build on this success by offering students a chance to interact with university representatives, professionals, university students and mentors who will provide guidance on different career paths, subject combinations, and application processes.
TESI is a non-profit organization based in Lira, that uses ICT & career guidance to improve education outcomes.
According to Emmanuel Angoda, the founder, this year’s career fair is specially for young people in Lira and Lango sub-region as whole, many of whom do not manage to attend the virtual events.
“I want young people to come and ask all their questions, regarding university applications, scholarships, loan scheme, university life and others. All questions shall be responded to by our team, and other professionals.” said Emmanuel Angoda.
Asked what young people should expect, Emmanuel said: “Young people should come to listen to presentations about different topics of discussion.”
Most importantly, he said young people should come and ask all the questions about higher education, undergraduate scholarships, loan scheme and university life. There will be testimonies from those who have managed to get these scholarships.
TESI remains committed to bridging the gap between secondary education and the professional world by ensuring students make informed career decisions.
This event at Lira Town College is another step towards empowering the next generation of Ugandan professionals.
Attendees shall have to part with shs5,000 to cover the cost of materials and cleanup.
