Residents of Opuu B Cell in Iceme Town Council’s Eastern Ward are mourning the shock death of a 50-year-old woman.
Milla Oyera was discovered dead in her garden in Opuu B Cell.
Her grandchildren found her “resting in the garden” after returning from school and immediately notified the LC1 chairperson, Ebong Erac.
Soon after the local leader arrived, he confirmed Milla’s death.
Rogers Boi, a neighbor of the deceased, stated that she had gone to her garden next to her house, but they later learned of her unexpected death.
Boi mentioned that the deceased had lived peacefully with her neighbors. She previously lived in Akidebe Cell before purchasing land in Opuu B Cell a few years back.
Fred Ebong, Iceme’s Gombola Internal Security Officer (GISO), told tndNews on Wednesday that police from the Iceme Police Station had arrived at the scene and that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of death.
He stated that they received information about this incident around 7:20 p.m. on March 5, 2025.
The GISO urges the community of Iceme to remain calm, assuring them that security personnel would take the necessary steps to provide a thorough report on the circumstances surrounding the death.
This is one of the most shocking deaths in Opuu B Cell in years.
