Yumbe medical radiographer remanded for causing financial loss

Adokorach Gloria was remanded on Thursday by the Koboko Chief Magistrates Court until March 13, 2025.

State House Anti-Corruption police arrested Adoko in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department and the DPP’s Office.

Adokorach, a medical radiographer at Yumbe Referral Hospital, is accused of obtaining money under false pretense and neglect of duty.

“The accused was employed as a midwife in 2013 by Koboko General Hospital and went on study leave until 2018. Upon her return, she did not report back to duty but continued to receive salary from Koboko Local government for a role she abandoned in 2018,” a statement by the Anti-Corruption agency reads.

She is accused of causing the government a financial loss of over shs40 million in salaries.

Uganda is one of the corrupt countries in East Africa. Shs1m per hour is lost to corruption, according to the IGG report.
