Won Nyaci: Court of Appeal issues hearing procedures and directives

Kampala | On Monday, the Court of Appeal in Kampala issued timelines for the conclusion of a case before it.

LCI promoters, led by Eng. Odongo Okune, are requesting a stay of execution following the Lira High Court ruling on October 31 that invalidated his election as Won Nyaci of Lango.

Eng. Odongo and his team filed an appeal due to their dissatisfaction with the ruling.

Their appeal is now before Justice Chebrioni Barchoki, who on Monday advised as follows:

1 Procedural Timeline:

Applicants to respond to defendant’s reply

On Tuesday, applicants to prepare written submissions

On Thursday, applicants to serve written submissions on respondents

*Respondents to prepare their written submissions

On Friday, both parties to file written rejoinders

Court will deliver ruling after Christmas holidays

Ruling to be issued on notice to parties.
