How the ONC team ‘yellowed Teso’ during Museveni’s wealth creation tour
President Museveni Yoweri Kaguta wrapped up his wealth-creation tour of Teso sub-region on Wednesday.
Museveni, who is also the national chairman of the ruling party, NRM, was accompanied by various party and government leaders at the national and local levels.
The Office of the National Chairman, or “ONC,” one of his party offices led by his trusted daughter, SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, was well-represented.
Hadijah led a group of coordinators from across the country. These coordinators played an important role in mobilising communities via radio talk shows, community meetings, and social media platforms.
National Chairman Museveni was cheered on by visibly excited members of the community everywhere he went. He stopped at various locations and interacted with the wanahanci.
While his tour was “less political,” a group of Teso elders took advantage of the opportunity on Wednesday at Kaberamaido town grounds to endorse Museveni for the presidency from 2026 to 2031.
Museveni’s grandchildren are overjoyed with the endorsement. One of them, Kato Joseph Sserusiba, an ONC media coordinator for Teso, stated: “The support for President Museveni is the result of an ONC campaign launched by SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye.”
Prossy Langol, ONC chief coordinator for the Lango sub-region, credits her Teso counterparts and their leader Hajjat with making the President’s tour a success.

Langol adds that the ONC is committed to mobilizing and supporting party leader Museveni before, during, and after the next election.
“At ONC, we work as a team. Our leader (Hajjat) empowers us every day, and we will not let her or our party’s national chairman down,” she adds.
President Museveni is expected to visit Lango sub-region before the end of the year on the same tour, and Langol is ready.
“The President will visit Lango; the exact date will be announced. While we wait, we will collaborate to ensure that his tour of Lango is as successful as Teso’s,” says Langol.
Museveni who started his Teso tour from Serere district on Monday, advised stakeholders and local people to embrace new methods of farming for income generation and poverty alleviation.
Now 80, Museveni said he’s planting seeds of progress nationwide, calling for selection of high yielding crops.
During his tour, he visited and monitored different government programs like the PDM, Emyooga and interacted with local farmers and investors.
