Lira | Linda Agnes Auma, the Lira district woman MP, has reaffirmed her commitment to meeting the needs of her constituents.
Recently, she has actively participated in a number of community initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of the local population.
Auma has also committed to working with the Ministry of Local Government to ensure that the mother sub-county of Amac resumes operations and functions in the same way as other sub-counties across the country.
On November 10, 2024, she kept her promise by distributing aluminum saucepans to over 867 households in Ayac Ward, Amac town council. The saucepans are now available in several villages, including Bar Lela, Odwongo, and Akwoyo Bar Ilwa, among others.

The aluminum saucepans, which she stated cost more than shs30 million, are part of her ongoing efforts, and she plans to expand similar initiatives to Agweng town council. She encourages the people of Erute North to anticipate the arrival of these saucepans, emphasizing that this initiative fulfills her campaign promises.

Auma has also taken a proactive approach to engaging with local governance structures, advocating for the interests of Amac town council. She has announced plans for future development projects aimed at improving her constituents’ living conditions, with a focus on infrastructure and community services.
On the same day, she handed over a set of uniforms to Akany FC, which is in Amac sub-county, Erute South, Lira district.
MP Auma reaffirmed her commitment to providing sporting assistance and developing young people’s sporting talents in her speech to the youth.
She also encouraged the youth to consider commercial farming in addition to their love of football, emphasizing her commitment to helping the Lira district’s youth.
Tonny Okello, the leader of Akany FC, thanked the MP for keeping her promises. Okello stated that the team is steadfast in their efforts to demonstrate their athletic abilities and improve the reputation of their club.
In her role as an MP, Auma has emphasized the importance of land ownership and has worked tirelessly to secure land titles for Amac residents. This initiative is critical to empowering the community and protecting their land rights.
Additionally, Auma has stressed the necessity for sustainable development in the region, particularly concerning land management and agricultural practices.

She has participated in a number of forums aimed at addressing environmental challenges in East Africa, collaborating with neighboring countries such as Congo, Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, and Ethiopia to promote regional cooperation on these critical issues.
