Lira |Linda Agnes Auma, Member of Parliament for Lira District Women, has announced that the Lango sub-region will receive over 40,000 data cards as part of the Lango War Claimants Compensation Initiative.
Auma emphasized the importance of these data cards at an event on Sunday, October 27, 2024, in Ayac Ward, Amac Town Council. She informed locals that the initiative was ongoing.
Auma acknowledged the contributions of MP Dr. Samuel Opio Acuti (Kole North) and atedero Moses Ogwang Adonyo. Both supported the initiative and paid a visit to the Minister of Justice’s office on October 25, 2024.
While there, they were assured that the government had allocated the necessary funds.
The distribution of these data cards is critical for the community because it allows residents to access a variety of services, Auma stated, emphasizing her commitment to ensuring an efficient distribution process in which all eligible individuals receive their cards.
She emphasized the importance of these data cards in allowing residents to access government programs and services for Lango war claimants.
Aluminium saucepans
The woman MP has made significant investments in aluminium saucepans and has once again delivered over 1,989 pieces to her constituents.

Auma’s aluminium saucepans, which cost her over shs45 million, were distributed to more than 1,989 households in ten villages in Ayac Ward, including Adwila, Akaidebe Central, Akaidebe, Bar Opok, and Ariti, among others.
In September, she reportedly allocated shs60 million for her projects in Ogur sub-county, which will benefit Apoka and Awala parishes.
Outside the constituency
MP Auma has participated in parliamentary committees, advocating for the needs of her constituents. She has been a key advocate for legislation that promotes community development and welfare, ensuring that the government remains accountable to the people it serves.
As a committee member, and chairperson of the agriculture committee, she advocates for her constituents’ interests, emphasising the importance of government accountability and transparency, particularly in terms of resource allocation to the region.
During the event, Bonny Omara, the vice chairperson of the Lira district, praised Auma for her significant contributions to the district’s development, particularly her work with the Amac town council, which has benefited the community.
She provided a shs5 million grant to the Ayac Women’s Catering Services group in Amac.
The group’s chairperson, Julius Peter Okello Amac, expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing the importance of working with local leaders to promote community development.
