Amolatar | Francis Odoki Rwotlonyo Okello, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Amolatar, has urged men to provide an excellent environment for women as they pursue political leadership.

Rwotlonyo stated that the NRM government has provided women with equal opportunities to participate in politics as men, and that women can perform even better.

On July 30, 2024, the RDC spoke at the handover ceremony for four classroom blocks and an office at Amolatar SDA Secondary School in Muntu sub-county, Amolatar district.

He mentioned Angwech Collines, the country director of Faraway Friends, who has since declared her desire to run alongside men in 2026 for the Kyoga County parliamentary seat.

Rwotlonyo stated that Angwech has always supported girl child education.

Moses Okot B’tek, Member of Parliament for Kyoga County, praised the district and fellow MPs for working together to ensure that development benefits the locals.

He encouraged Amolatar SDA students and others throughout the district to study hard so that they could compete with those from wealthy families.

Geoffrey Ocen, Amolatar’s LC5 chairperson, urged the school’s administrators to preserve the institution.

According to Ocen, the district has yet to receive shs300 million for the extension of another three classroom blocks at Amolatar SDA Secondary School.

Sam Ronald Ogweng, Senior Inspector of Schools and Chairperson of the Amolatar District Contract Committee, stated that the construction work was completed successfully.

He urged teachers to prepare students for success.
