Amolatar | The Office of the President (RDC of Amolatar district) will hold a consultative meeting with NRM party leaders.
RDC Okello Francis Odoki Rwotlonyo stated that since being sent to Amolatar, he has never met with NRM leaders and only knows a few who have visited him in the office.
“I called this meeting to ensure that we address some issues affecting NRM performance in the district,” he said. “It has been my responsibility to meet with party leaders since I arrived in the district two years ago.”
The RDC stated that there is a lot of disagreement among the party leaders in Amolatar.
According to RDC Rwotlonyo, the meeting on May 31, 2024 is intended to unite, reconcile, and build confidence among party members in the district.
The RDC revealed this plan during a press conference with journalists in his office a few days ago.
He said, “I have called all party leaders, from the district to the villages.”
He said the meeting would help them understand what the NRM-led government is doing for its people.

“I have called all NRM leaders from villages to district to meet so that we can learn about what the NRM government is doing for its people in Amolatar.”
The leaders will also discuss what has gone wrong in the party, what is causing conflict, and how to reconcile members so that they can work together, the RDC added.
He also encouraged young people who are eligible to join the army to do so now that the UPDF has begun recruiting.
On July 9, he stated that interviews will take place in Dokolo once the shortlisted candidates have been announced.
“I would also like to inform all young educated people to begin submitting their army applications to my office. What are the requirements? LC1, II, and III letters, Giso and Diso letters, and the Uganda Certificate of Education.
Those planning to join the army have been advised to get a medical checkup beforehand so that Amolatar does not lose as many candidates as it did last year.
Alele Joel, the vice chairperson of NRM for Amolatar, praised the RDC for calling the meeting, stating that he lacked the authority to call one.
However, Alele stated that he has been yarning for. “Due to the absence of the meeting, the party’s strength is low.”
“I want to admit that there is weakness and poor governance in the office of chairman NRM (Amolatar), which is why there are so many bad things going on in the party that the chairperson has kept quiet about,” Alele stated.
He urged Members of Parliament who are NRM members to attend the meeting to aid in reconciliation efforts.
Felix Adupa Ongwech stated that the meeting will assist the NRM in Amolatar in establishing their mobilisation agenda, as most political parties have already begun.
“I am much more interested in mobilisation,” Adupa explained. “This meeting will help us start mobilisation, which is why village NRM leaders will be present.
Adupa also stated that they plan to use the meeting to petition the party’s national chairman, Yoweri Museveni, to demand tarmac roads and a district hospital.
Harfat Oyuku Odyek, the youth league chairperson who also serves as the ONC coordinator, stated that the meeting should help NRM members work together towards a common goal.
Alfred Emong Adingi, the NRM chairman of Amolatar town council, has called on all those interested in running on the NRM ticket to attend the meeting.
