Lango | North Kyoga Regional Police headquarters completed the interview process for Probationer Police Constables (PPCs) on Monday, May 13, 2024.
The interviewing process in Lango began on May 6, 2024, with Oyam district. It ended with Amolatar and Otuke districts, respectively.
According to the region’s PRO, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, Amolatar district produced 32 of the 34 shortlisted candidates.
However, Okema added that two people missed the exercise.
The PRO confirmed that the Amolatar exercise was witnessed by the district’s DPC, SSP Christopher Katumba, and Vice Chairperson LC5, Sam Peter Onyang.
SSP Katumba, he said, encouraged and challenged the candidates to embody the spirit of patriotism.
The exercise came to an end at 3:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Otuke district, the exercise began at 10 a.m., with only 14 candidates showing up for the interview.
Two of the candidates failed to show up.
The interview team leader, ACP Doka Ramathan, encouraged the young candidates to avoid alcoholism and drug abuse.
Doka stated that this may prevent them from joining the police force.
Among other things, the aspiring police officers had to complete a 05-kilometre run, medical examinations, fitness tests, and oral and aptitude interviews.
Okema also urged the candidates to maintain discipline and patience while they await the results of the interview and invitations to training in Masindi district.
The region’s officials included CP Fredrick Ssegiriinya, who was deputised by RPC SSP Allan Tugiizire Allan, Amolatar DPC SSP Christopher Katumba, Otuke DPC SP Boniface Wanyama, and DISO Edward Drasiri.
