Entebbe | On Thursday, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met with US Ambassador to Uganda William W. Popp at State House in Entebbe.
The discussions focused on several critical issues, including the upcoming population census, regional peace and stability, and socioeconomic development.
Ambassador Popp and President Museveni both emphasised the importance of conducting a comprehensive and inclusive count to provide critical data for informed decision-making and effective governance.
Their discussions delved deeper into regional peace and stability, with President Museveni sharing his thoughts on ongoing efforts to promote peace and security in the region.
In order to address shared issues and advance stability—thereby guaranteeing a tranquil atmosphere for the welfare of all citizens—Museveni, 80, emphasised the importance of international collaboration and cooperation.
President Museveni and Ambassador Popp also discussed socioeconomic development opportunities, with a focus on strategies to boost Uganda’s growth and prosperity while also improving the two countries’ long-standing relations.
Ambassador Popp expressed gratitude for Museveni’s time and what he calls “wise counsel.”
He also acknowledged Museveni’s extensive knowledge and experience, emphasising the importance of ongoing dialogue in building a strong and mutually beneficial relationship between the United States and Uganda.
