Kumam leader tells subjects, “guide your children”

Kuman

Amolatar | Papa Kuman Raphael Otaya (the paramount chief of Kumam culture heritage) has praised his subjects for sending their children to school.

His Highness urged parents to keep their children away from harmful peer groups as they prepare to return to school for the second term of the 2024 academic calendar.

The cultural leader cited Aburuburu, Alwa, and Oryemu as places where boys are raping and breaking into people’s shops.

He also cautioned parents against abandoning their children like sheep, urging them to keep them for a healthier future.

Papa Otaya also urged this year’s PLE, UCE, and UACE candidates to work hard and pass Mathematics and English so that if they fail to advance beyond senior four, they can join the national security forces.

He also asked parents to monitor their children’s performance at school in order to correct and motivate them.

In addition, he urged his subjects to take advantage of the current rainy season to farm and store food in order to avoid famine, which forces people to beg the government.

In order for the government to effectively plan for its citizens, he also urged his people to support government initiatives like the current national census.

“I want to thank parents for keeping their children this holiday. As they prepare to return to school, let us keep our children away from negative peers,” he emphasised.
