News-in-brief, Otuke | In addition to promoting and allowing the youth in Otuke County to showcase their sports (football) talents, MP Paul Omara has pledged to boost income-generating projects for them.
Omara says efforts are in place to help the County youth out of the unemployment trap by supporting those in organised groups to start income-generating activities.
He was speaking on December 24, 2023, during the inter-tournament competitions for the “Omara-Christmas” Cup.
The competitions brought together youth for the Town Council and Sub-county in Otuke.
The event was worth more than shs3.5m. Alango FC emerged winners, walking back home with a cash prize of shs800,000 plus the cup.
Okwang Town Council took shs600,000. Both teams received “medals”.
Okwang Secondary School hosted the 2023 event.
