Lira, May 21, 2023: The people of Lango are asking why no roads will be tarmacked this coming financial year. This is my answer. No government cares about you unless you matter to it.
This is a simple philosophy of practical lifeThe government will ignore you if ignoring you is of no consequence.
If you continue to vote for the same government that gives you nothing for your votes, that government will give you nothing in return for your cheap votes.
Where democracy and accountability exist and voters are conscious of their rights, the principle is called ‘quid pro quo’ – that is if I give you, you must give me something in return otherwise I will refuse to give you again.
Museveni can safely afford to ignore Lango because it is weak, divided, poor and poses no threat to his government even if it does nothing for it.
