Kotido – December 8, 2022: The bishop of the Church of Uganda, North Karamoja Diocese Rt. Rev James Nasak has reconciled with his former diocesan secretary as his tour before retirement nears an end.

Reverend Florence Omwony, the former diocesan secretary penned down a resignation letter in 2020 to disengage herself from service as the diocesan secretary after picking up a disagreement with her boss.

The duo has reconciled. On November 27, 2022 during the Bishop’s visit to Abim archdeaconry, Nasak (Bishop) said he enjoyed a very good working relationship with Omwony.

He said she was a respectful secretary. “But I was surprised by her resignation letter copied to the archbishop which didn’t go well with me.”

Nasak added that he has received an apology letter from Omwony in which he has taken the apology into positive consideration.

Rev Omwony, while responding, said she was appointed into office without proper induction which prompted her to make a few errors that were triggered by those who reported her falsely to her boss.

She is now grateful to the Bishop for considering her apology and requested him to consider reinstating her back to service.

After her resignation, Reverend Omwony was excommunicated from service in the diocese.
