Ngora district officials were arrested by the Anti Corruption police for misuse of shs242m
Ngora, Sept. 10, 2022: Anti Graft team from State House in liaison with Police have arrested Ngora district officials for the misappropriation of UGX242m.
The money was for Parish Development Model and was meant for Ngora SACCOs.
The arrest followed a formal complaint from the RDC of Ngora district to the Unit and Police.
Those arrested are CAO Wadada Lawrence, CFO Elungant Charles Kejju and DCO Otai Mackay.
Others include the District Planner, Asio Priscilla and District Community Development Officer, Egunyu Francis.
The district Production Officer Oluka Jacob is still on the run, according to the Anti Corruption unit.
According to the Observer Newspaper, the suspects have agreed to repay the misused fund by Wednesday, September 14, 2022. On Tuesday, they had returned more than shs100m to the government.
