“There is need for the graduands to utilize the knowledge they acquired for the benefit of society and humanity in general as well as for their own benefit too,” University Chancellor, Rt. Rev. Prof. Alfred Olwa.
Lira – 19, December 2021: All Saints University Lango (ASUL) has today passed out 395 students in their 9th graduation ceremony that took at their new site along Boroboro Road in Lira city.
Among the 395 students that graduated from the private University on 17th December, 191 were females, 204 males. The graduands were awarded with certificates, diplomas and conferred with degrees in various disciplines.
Meanwhile some of the outstanding students were awarded for their excellent performance include; Innocent Okilla with Bachelor of Business Administration and Management (BBAM), Jean Morris Opio with Diploma in Public Administration and Management (DPAM), Brenda Akao with Certificate in Business Administration and Management (CBAM) and Sharon Akio Akello with Certificate in Business Administration and Management (CBAM).
According to the Chancellor All Saints University Lango Rt. Rev. Prof. Alfred Olwa who is also the diocesan Bishop of Lango Diocese told TND in an interview that there is need for the graduands to utilize the knowledge they acquired for the benefit of society and humanity in general as well as for their own benefit too.
He challenged the graduands to always seek out for opportunities presented to them especially in the areas of Information and communication Technology revolution. He informed them to put Jesus Christ at the centre of their lives so as to receive more blessings and desist from corruption.

The Director of Operations Wealth Creation, Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho Salim Saleh donated two tractors and 10 million Uganda shillings to All Saints University.
In his speech read by the woman Member of Parliament for Amolatar D istrict Dr. Agnes Atim Apea (Imat Ocere who represented him as the chief guest on the 9th Graduation Ceremony said the 10 million shillings should be invested in the development of projects at the university and the tractors are to help in boosting up agriculture in the school.
Imat Ocere applauded parents for investing in their children’s education with the little they have and also commended the university staff for the support given to the graduands which has contributed to their success.
She urged them to be innovative with the skills they have acquired to become job creators and not job seekers.
The Chairman Governing Council Mr. Francis Peter Ojede of All Saints University called upon each graduand to cherish and honor the sacrifices made by all who supported them and told them to go out with an open mind and cause transformation in the community they will be working in.
He thanked the then Lira District Local Government for allocating to them two plots of land namely; plot 51-55 on Boroboro Road and plot 6-10 Okello Degree Road.
“We call up on each one of you, well-wishers together with the Community for more support towards the council to enable them take it to another level.”
Mr. Ojede also told the public that ASUL is grateful for the guidance and support from National Counsel for Higher Education. He added that the Governing Counsel and Management is working tirelessly to move the university to next level in a bid to attain a charter status and assured them they will have it next year.
