
Arua—22, June 2020: On Saturday, 20, EFOTI Limited, a company at the forefront of tea revival in northern Uganda and Muni University in Arua district planted the first tea plantlets for the University.
The occasion was piloted by Mr Edwin Atukunda Beekunda, the EFOTI Limited director also an expert in tea management, research and production and the University top officials.

Associate Professor Kajobe Robert, Dean Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Muni University launched the tea project on behalf of the Muni University.
Other senior staff was Mr Richard Malingumu (in white), who’s an Assistant Lecturer of Soil Science, Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
The duo, with Edwin and others, planted the first tea plantlets. “They assured for collaboration,” Mr Atukunda told this publication.
EFOTI Limited’s efforts are to ensure that tea is widely embraced in northern Uganda by individual farmers, cooperative groups; private and government institutions, among others.


So far, there are over 500 committed tea farmers in Zombo district alone, and about 123 to restart the project in Oyam district.
