
Kampala—25, May 2020: Tomorrow, 26 May 2020, private cars will resume transportation after President Museveni lifted the ban during his 14th televised address to the country last week.
In his address, Mr Museveni said private cars would resume provided all occupants [only three including a driver] wear standard masks approved by the Ministry of Health.
The President also announced that public transport: taxis, buses, among others should wait until 4 June 2020. This, he also expected by that time all passengers would have got recommended masks.
Addressing the media Monday at the Uganda Media Centre—Kampala, CP Fred Enaga, who’s the national Police spokesperson issued strict procedures to private car owners beginning to ‘drive again’ tomorrow.

“All the private vehicles that were allowed on the road must have its occupants wearing face masks,” Enaga said.
Mr Enanga further added that all vehicles must observe curfew time. “Whoever we will get past 7pm, the vehicle will be impounded and occupants arrested, taken to Court and charged,” he added.
