31 new COVID-19 cases confirmed for Tuesday

Kampala—26, May 2020: Uganda’s total confirmed cases are now 253 from 222 on Monday after the Ministry of Health confirmed 31 new cases for Tuesday.

According to the Ministry, 23 new cases are from the Points of Entry while 8 new cases are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers.

The contacts were under quarantine at the time of test, Ministry added

Also, it says in a statement that 20 positive foreign truck drivers (16 Tanzanians and 4 Kenyans) were handed over to their country of origin.

There are now a total of 69 COVID-19 recoveries with no death.

At Points of Entry, 896 samples were tested on Tuesday; 220 samples were from community and contacts.

Total samples tested for the day were 1,116.
