Museveni: It’s suicidal to interfere with cargo transportation

Ugandan leader, Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni addressed the nation for the 12th time on Tuesday, 28 April 2020.

In his address, he said attacking cargo lorries by some Ugandans is suicidal, directing that cargo transportation by Lorries and planes will continue.

“One of the crucial things that had to continue was cargo within the country and between our neighbours. It is part of the planned survival core system. To interfere with cargo movement is suicidal,” he said.

On agriculture, Mr Museveni says he always fought wars in a planned manner, adding that, “While discos, bars, and airports were closed, farming will continue because it is not concentrated.”

General Museveni added that “this is not an emotional or suicidal war” – “it is a well-planned war but we shall survive.”

On factories, he says it should continue provided they [factory management] can keep their workers at the company or near the company.

“The first thing you need to remember is that this disease is totally avoidable. You need to remember that.”

On more risk posed by coronavirus, he said there could be three possibilities. One, there are no more cases in Uganda. Two, people have the disease but they are not getting sick, and three, he says people are dying of coronavirus and we think they are dying of other diseases.
