The Resident District Commissioner [RDC] of Jinja and two others have been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
Mr Eric Sakwa Joseph, 38, and two others, were arrested on Friday by a team of detectives from The State House Anti-Corruption Unit.
Charge sheet: Sakwa Erick Joseph (A1) who’s a male adult aged 38, Mugisu by tribe, RDC Jinja District, resident of Ntege village, Walukuba – Masese division, Jinja district, and Bazimbyewa Bumali alias Chris Umar Dindoni (A2), a male adult aged 19 years, Mugisu by tribe, mechanic and a resident of Mufumbira Zone C, Mufumbira sub-county in Jinja district, and Simba Mohammed alias Meddie (A3), a male adult aged 31 years, Mufumbira by tribe, a businessman and a resident of Kayunga village, Mafumbira sub-county in Jinja district.

The trio and others still at large, according to particulars of offence, between the 22nd day of March 2020 and the 17th day of April 2020, at Lwanda village in Jinja district unlawfully caused the death of Isanga Charles.
Their actions contravenes section 187 (1), (2) and 190 of the Penal Code Act Cap 120.
On Friday, the RDC and two others appeared before Magistrate Ann Kobusingye, who remanded them to prison until May 13 when they will be produced before the same Court.
Robbery
They have jointly been charged with robbery.
Prosecution on Friday avers that A1, A2 and A3 and others still at large stole from the deceased, Uganda shilling 80,000; three crates of beer, eight trays of eggs, a sachet waragi and all are valued at Uganda shillings 429,000.
