Ex Lands Minister Omara Atubo signs FDC petition to ICC

Lira On Friday, Honourable Daniel Omara Atubo, the former Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development joined FDC members and other Ugandans by signing a petition to International Criminal Court [ICC].

The FDC petition to ICC is to request for investigations and indictment of Uganda’s President [Gen.] Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and others for crimes against humanity.

Mr Atubo – who worked with President Museveni as his senior Lands Minister and a Member of Parliament is one high profile men from Lango to append his signature in an attempt to prosecute his former chief.

At FDC party Lira office, after signing the petition, Mr Atubo talked to the media, telling the importance of the ‘exercise’ to Uganda and why ‘everyone’ ought to sign.

“I love Museveni but I love Uganda more,” he told the press, Friday.

The former Otuke County Legislator called upon the people of Lango sub-region and Uganda at large to sign the petition.

By the end of Friday, FDC claims they had collected and verified 600,000 signatures from different parts of the country. They need about 1 million signatures.
