The Aruu South Consituency Member of Parliament Odonga Otto over the weekend donated 321 Iron sheets and 4 cartons of blankets to families with nodding disease victims.
The donation was also shared by vulnerable people in the constituency during his Thanksgiving after surviving a road accident three months ago.
The event took place at Mayor’s garden in Pader town.
Mr. Otto said the donation is to set new faces on the victims, adding that: “There is need to set tangible things than donating things which are never durable.”
He however added that people suffering from nodding syndrome needs good shelter that are permanent houses.
The MP further appeals to other stakeholders to take up from him and put something tangible for sufferers which he said “is more sustainable”.
Each of the family will receive 14 Iron sheets and other item across Pader.
Till now, Pader district has the highest cases of nodding disease across Acholi sub-region
