Briefly: World Vision staff dies in motorbike accident

“The deceased was from Gulu and heading to Lira for work,” sources.

Akena James Rackara, 30, who was attached to World Vision Lira office died on Monday morning at around 6:30am in a motorbike accident.

According to an eyewitness, he died at Atego swamp, Minakulu sub-county in Oyam district – Gulu – Kampala highway.

The deceased who was riding an organization motorbike, registration number UEP 690Y, lost control and went down the swamp.

Preliminary reports indicate that he hit his head, broke his neck and died instantly.

“He was driving a terrible speed, lost control and veered off the road into the swamp. We rushed but found him lifeless,” James Okoda Bon, an eyewitness told this news website on Monday afternoon.

According to Okoda, the deceased was from Gulu and heading to Lira for work.

By press time, his body was transferred to Anyeke Health centre IV in Oyam district for proper management ahead of unknown date for his sendoff.
