A housemaid to northern Uganda youth Member of Parliament Oscar Omony has died. Joyce passed on Thursday morning from Nakasero hospital in Kampala.
The youthful house help passed on following a deadly road accident which occurred on June 4, 2018 in Minakulu, Oyam district along Gulu-Kampala highway.
Speaking to TND News reporter on Thursday, the northern youth representative in the 10th Parliament confirmed her demise.
“Joyce, 17 succumbed to kidney failure this morning,” MP Omony said, adding: “Plans are underway to transfer her body to her ancestral home in Yumbe district on a date yet to be confirmed.
The Legislator further told this news website that his wife, Denise Atimango and driver Christopher Okot are recovering after undergoing operations and treatment at Kampala International Hospital.
On June 4 this year, MP Omony`s car registration number UAW 260Q was involved in a head on collision with a vehicle registration number UAR 436 Y belonging to Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA).
Omony and his family members among them his wife, three month old daughter-Esther Letasi and maid Joyce (dead now) including his driver who’s also his brother, Okot Christopher got involved.
She’s the 31st person to die in seven different road accidents along Gulu-Kampala highway in less than one month.
