The cultural Leadership of Ker Tekwaro Lango commonly known as Lango Cultural Foundation as expressed fears in the manner Ibrahim Abiriga, the Arua Municipality MP was murdered.
In his condolence message released on Saturday, on behalf of Lango tribe, His Highness (Won Nyaci) Yosam Odur Ebii said the MP’s death was callous and dishonorable.
Ebii further asked government to aid Abiriga’s widow and nine children.
“I appeal to government of Uganda to give the necessary support to his family and his cultural institution. Anybody has love for his country has the same love for his culture and Abiriga was exceptional,” Lango cultural leader said.
He added: “I was convinced during State of Nation Address which I attended that Abiriga was down to earth. At his age, he was very active.”
Abiriga was killed aged 62.
The Ker Tekwaro Lango leader described the former Arua Municipality MP, Abiriga as a patriotic and a peace loving person who did what he felt was right for him and Uganda.
On Sunday, Parliament of Uganda paid him singular tributes before his body was flown to Arua for burial on Monday.
