In the quest for his reelection in 2026, Otuke East Member of Parliament Julius Acon Bua was the first to be nominated by the Electoral Commission on day one of the two-day exercise on Wednesday morning.
Acon, fondly referred to as “a boy who runs,” is the official NRM party flagbearer as well as the Otuke District NRM Chairperson.
He was duly nominated at 10:32 am in an exercise presided over by Otuke District Returning Officer, Ayo Nelson Odima.
Acon’s supporters burst into Jubilation shorty after their MP’s nomination was confirmed.
Julius Acon is seeking reelection to represent the people of Otuke East in the 12th Parliament. He became an MP in the 2016 general elections.
The nomination exercise, happening across the country, marks the official start of the 2026 general election campaigns.
