Muntu seed secondary school introduces a ‘dress code policy’ for students

Muntu Seed Senior Secondary School in Amolatar district has banned the wearing of “inappropriate attires” on its premises in an effort to foster a conducive learning environment.

In an exclusive interview with tndNews, headteacher Ogangi Geoffrey discussed the new policy, emphasizing its importance in improving students’ academic performance.

Ogangi stated that the school has strict monitoring protocols at the entrance, and students who are found wearing “excessively short clothing” are promptly dismissed.

“An improper dress code creates distractions that can detract from the focus and seriousness required for academic success,” he stated.

He underscored the link between a respectful appearance and improved concentration in studies.

Ogangi encouraged parents to enroll their children in the newly revised A-Level curriculum, stating that the changes had made the curriculum more straightforward and accessible.

“We aim to simplify the path to academic achievement, and we believe this revised curriculum will better serve our students’ educational needs,” he told tndNews.

The headteacher has urged parents to ensure that their children have the resources they need to succeed in school.

He expressed concern about the rising suicide rate among young students and emphasized the critical role parental support plays in protecting mental health.

“It is crucial for parents to stay actively involved in their children’s education and well-being,” he urged.

To further support students, Muntu Seed has taken a nurturing approach, grouping them under the guidance of a single teacher who serves as a family leader.

This system, according to the headteacher, not only promotes discipline but also provides students with a safe space to express any concerns.

He also stated that the school is committed to upholding a dress code that reflects the institution’s values while prioritizing its students’ well-being and academic success.

The school strives to create an environment conducive to learning and personal growth through the efforts of parents, students, and teachers working together.
