Tarehe Sita: Stanbic Bank gives 100 mama kits

Stanbic Bank Uganda has donated a variety of items to support the 2025 Tarehe Sita celebrations.

Brig Gen Michael Kibuye, the Director of Civil-Military Cooperation for the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces, received the donations on Friday.

Kibuye thanked Stanbic Bank for its consistent support for the Tarehe Sita celebrations.

Among the donations from Stanbic Bank were 100 mama kits and 10 delivery beds. These donations aim to promote safe motherhood and empower women, in line with the UPDF’s larger efforts to improve community welfare.

At least 2,000 fruit tree seedlings and sports equipment were also donated. It will be delivered for the marathon before the main Tarehe Sita celebrations, according to UPDF officials.

Diana Ondoga, Manager of Corporate Social Investment at Stanbic Bank, expressed gratitude for the collaboration.

Ondoga stated that the bank is committed to supporting the UPDF’s community initiatives.

She expressed pride in the UPDF’s efforts to improve Ugandans’ health and well-being, highlighting the organization’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.

She emphasized Stanbic’s collaboration with the Ministry of Health to ensure that women, particularly those in rural areas, have access to critical health services.

The event and donation handover took place in Mbuya, Kampala.

The 44th Tarehe Sita celebrations will take place in the Greater Masaka region early next month.
