Dokolo |A man from the Dokolo district died as a result of extramarital affairs. A 15-year-old boy killed him.
Obonyo Calvin, 29, was stabbed on November 17, 2024, at around 11:00 p.m.
Ojara Juventino, 56, officially reported the incident to Dokolo police on November 18, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m.
Ojara lives in Aputi Village, Bardyang Parish, Adok Sub-County, Dokolo.
PRO of North Kyoga Region, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema said it is alleged that the deceased had been romantically involved with the mother of the suspect, Omara Calvin, 15.
SP Okema revealed that the mother, Ejang Caroline, is 56 years old.
According to preliminary police reports, the 15-year-old was dissatisfied with their relationship and confronted Obonyo on November 11, 2024.
Again, on November 17, 2024, at around 10:00 p.m., he confronted his mother’s close friend at a bar in Aputi village.
“An argument ensued, escalating into a physical altercation. During this confrontation, Omara allegedly stabbed Obonyo in the chest with a sharp object before fleeing the scene.”
Before his friends could take him to the hospital, Obonyo collapsed after suffering severe bleeding while attempting to pursue Omara, according to SP Okema.
On Monday, November 18, 2024, the incident was reported to the Adok Police Outpost and registered with the Officer in Charge, who then notified the Central Police Station in Dokolo.
“The crime scene was secured until the following morning when a team from the Homicide Unit, along with Scene of Crime Officers, arrived to investigate.”
The deceased’s body was subsequently recovered and transported to Dokolo HC IV for a postmortem examination.
Police confirmed that the suspect was apprehended by community members and turned over to law enforcement for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Ejang Caroline has been placed in custody for her own safety due to unrest among the deceased’s relatives, who have caused property damage.
“Fortunately, the individual responsible for this act is currently in custody, and we are actively looking for those who engaged in destructive behavior,” Okema stated.
