Dokolo |The outgoing Dokolo Grade One Magistrate, Her Worship Dr. Irene Namae, was described as “passionate,” “committed,” “jolly,” “simple,” and “loved.”
Her recent transfer to Kampala has allowed the district to say farewell to a dedicated and hardworking judicial officer, whose efforts have been praised by many.
During a farewell event at St. James Institute of Science and Technology, Joe Elyak, the court clerk who had the opportunity to work with Dr. Namae, shared the overwhelming praise from litigants for her outstanding work.
Ismail Sulaiman Masaba, Dokolo’s Deputy RDC and chairperson of the farewell committee, urged the community to celebrate her accomplishments while remaining optimistic that better opportunities would arise tomorrow.

David Nabende, Dokolo’s Resident Senior State Attorney, who has witnessed Dr. Namae’s work, recalls meeting a “jolly” Namae for the first time in Iganga district.
Despite her cheerful demeanour, Nabende attests that she exhibits a high professional etiquette and her work has never been compromised.
Wamimbi William, a Magistrate Grade One from Apala in Alebtong and Lira Chief Magistrates Court who represented the Chief Magistrate of Lira Court and the Judiciary, praised Dr. Namae’s dedication and hard work as well.
He added that Dr. Namae is an inspiration to many given her academic and professional achievements.
SASP Ezra Mucunguzi, the OC Prison of Dokolo, explained that while some judicial officers tend to forget about remanded suspects, Dr. Namae never does.

He added that in his previous work experience, he had to write letters to remind magistrates about the remanded suspects, but in Dokolo, he has not had to, as everyone is treated with respect and dignity.
Even the District Police Commander, SP Patience Baganzi, was impressed by Dr. Namae’s simplicity and compassion.
She recalls a day when the Magistrate stopped by her office shortly after she arrived in Dokolo to begin her work. To her, this indicated a down-to-earth judicial officer.
This is a true testament to Dr. Namae’s character and the community’s affection for her.
Barbara Akech, the Resident District Commissioner, praised Dr. Namae’s efforts to guide the District Security Committee.
She even tried unsuccessfully to cancel her transfer. She added that her transfer after only a year is a significant blow to the district.
In her closing address, Dr. Irene Namae thanked the Dokolo community for their love and support during her time in the district.
Her enthusiasm for her work and dedication to serving the community have not gone unnoticed, and her presence will undoubtedly be missed.
Dr. Namae’s work in Dokolo has had a long-term impact on the community, and her dedication has served as an example for future judicial officers.
She will be remembered as a remarkable and compassionate judicial officer who went above and beyond for the people of Dokolo.
