MP Obua launches a free medical clinic in Ajuri county

Alebtong | On Saturday, August 17, 2024, Denis Hamson Obua, Member of Parliament for Ajuri County, Alebtong District, launched the first-ever free medical and surgical camp.

The Ajuri County MP collaborated with UPDF doctors to examine, test, diagnose, and provide free treatment to the community. The health camp will conclude on August 24, 2024.

On Saturday, hundreds of people gathered at Alanyi HCIII to witness the launch.

The medical team will visit Abako, Amugu, and Omoro Health Centre IIIs on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., just as they did on Sunday.

According to Obua, the team will visit Awei, Angeta, and Adwir Health Centres on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Dental cases are also being handled, he added.

Obua, who is also the Government Chief Whip, urged everyone in Ajuri to use the medical camp to address any medical conditions or concerns they may have.

Kennedy Dickens Odongo, Alebtong’s LC5 chairman, thanked Obua for his efforts to improve Ajuri County.

“I also want to thank him for bringing services up to the grass roots in order to boost the health statuses of our local people. As a leader, I am still encouraging Obua to continue lobbying and bringing more to our people.”

John Okullu is the LC3 chairperson for Abako sub-county. He encouraged the local community to turn out in large numbers for this one-week event.

When they arrive, their health issues should be resolved, Okullu stated.

Angetta sub-county LC3 chairperson Robert Okullu praised Obua’s efforts, particularly in Ajuri County.

“I am also encouraging other leaders to emulate him. They should be as ambitious as he is, and allow for kick and drop out segregation in service delivery.”

Ajuri has six health centres, and doctors are conducting the camp in each of them.

A similar health camp in Lira City, which served thousands of women and children from the Lango sub-region, ended nine days ago.

Cancer screening, HIV testing, breast cancer screening, and treatment for various ailments were provided for free, thanks to Lira City woman MP Dr Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero.
